Making Poverty Unfashionable!

During the week of February 26 - March 2, The Junior League of Charlotte, Inc. (JLC) is running our third annual Little Black Dress Initiative (LBDI) - a campaign to raise awareness of the challenges that face the over 1.6 million North Carolinians living in poverty.

Our Participants will wear one black dress for five consecutive working days to:

1.  Raise awareness of the difficulties facing those who are in need and have few resources;
 2.  Understand how limited resources can affect daily life; and
 3.  Fundraise supporting the mission of the JLC to promote voluntarism, to develop the potential of women and to improve the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.
